Roadside Station Hinanosato Katsutura
To turn left at the sign I happened to see, I must have driven about 14 kilometers.
It was deeper in the mountains than I had expected, but it was more prosperous than I had expected, and there were more people there than I had expected.
There was a specialty called "Katsuura Mikan" that I was vaguely familiar with, so I entered the store to see if there were any products related to it.
I soon found a good one.
I bought it just for its appearance, because I want to be surprised when I eat it. My guess is that it's kneaded with the fresh sweetness of "Katsuura mandarins".
I look forward to the day when I can boil and eat them. Thinking about it, I squeeze some sudachi (citrus fruit) into men-tsuyu (Japanese noodle soup) to change its flavor, or put grated peel into it, so citrus fruits must go well with somen.
I got some delicious somen noodles, and feeling relaxed that I had already conquered all the roadside stations in the south that I had to visit, I set off on my way home with a light step.
Reflections on this issue
As you may have noticed, there were a little too many destinations this time around.
Because of this, the amount of time spent per location was reduced dramatically, and the time spent rushed past.
It's a trip after all. Next time, I would like to take it easy and enjoy it a little more.
