Pokéka] I went to an event at the Shikoku University Plaza, where the world's second-ranked Pokémon card player, Cernigo, descended on the plaza, and asked him questions.

On October 1, a Pokémon card event was held at the Shikoku University Exchange Plaza. The event was limited to 200 people, and I was lucky enough to win the lottery when I applied for the event.

This time, I would like to write about the event.

First of all, after completing the reception on the first floor, I saw a glittering light-up display. There were two cards that looked awesome and a big trophy with a cute Pikachu on it.

I immediately took a picture.

Apparently, it is a commemorative card for being the strongest in Japan. I can't believe such an awesome-looking thing is in Tokushima Prefecture. Later, I heard that the card and trophy were displayed at Momoya in Nikkenya (Momoya is a shop where Cernigo used to shop). (Momoya in Nikkenya is a store where Cernigo used to store.)

Then I would guess that the trophy was probably for the second place in the world.

The first part of the event started with a free talk by Cernigo. He took a lot of questions at that time, so I decided to ask mine.

Without opportunities like this, we would not have the chance to hear from the fiercest fighters in the world. The only question I would like to ask the most is this.

What does it take to be the best in the world?

Cernigo answered my question slowly and calmly.

(Summary) "I think it's a feeling. When I came in second in the world championships, there were two times when I had to win, but I didn't have the courage to do so. I think that was the difference between victory and defeat. In the end, I think it came down to feelings."

I see. The words of a fierce competitor who was just one win away from becoming the best in the world carried weight.

Perhaps the difference between victory and defeat for those who make it to the finals is not simply their ability, but whether or not they have the courage to take on the challenges they need to take on, without missing an opportunity at every moment.

The questions continued.
