waiting time
Counting from the parking lot, I guess I had to wait about 7 hours and 30 minutes for the fireworks to start. As expected, it would have been tough if I had come alone as usual.
But this time, I had my friends with me, so it was easier than I thought it would be. Until we met up with Tomojiro, Ponju, Ma, and I could take turns going to the food stalls to eat, and we could lie on the blue sheets and talk about other things.
By the way, I enjoyed the food stall for the first time in a long time.
I ate squid, beef skewers, and takoyaki, which I don't usually eat, and drank non-alcoholic beer and enjoyed the festival atmosphere, saying, "It's cold, it's cold.
Yes, Ponju-san gave us Pocky's in honor of Pocky Day (November 11). We all shared them and they were delicious.
Since I had so much time on my hands, I sometimes went out to look at the food stalls even if I had no particular need for them.
I get excited when I see all the food stalls lined up in a row. I don't like to participate in events that attract crowds, but I do like them. I like festivals.
I would go back and forth between the stalls with my pocket money in hand. This alone is a pretty fun attraction.
There are many men and women of all ages walking around, all with smiles on their faces. I was strangely happy to see smiling faces looking at the stalls, waiting in line to use the restroom, eating yakisoba noodles, and running around.
Tomojiro joined us about 30 minutes before the fireworks started. I was even happier when the full group finally arrived.
I was quite impatient because I hadn't been able to meet up with Tomojiro yet when I couldn't connect to my phone at all because there were too many people.
Oh yeah, I got to know a little bit more about fireworks while I was waiting. Just a little bit.
For example, the size of fireworks.
For example, the size of a No. 5 ball (14 cm, 1.2 kg) would rise about 190 meters and have a diameter of about 150 meters when it blooms.
If the size is doubled to No. 10 (30 cm, 8.2 kg), it will rise about 330 meters, making a firework with a diameter of about 300 meters.
I was surprised to learn from the pamphlet that fireworks are that big.
I didn't really get a sense of the size because there is no comparison in the night sky, but it was 150m-300m. It's huge.
Also, in the section "Points and Scoring Explanation for Fireworks Viewing," there were written points for each of the two types of fireworks: the big ball (single shot launched fireworks) and the starmine (continuous shot fireworks).
It seems that it is important whether the balls are in a good position (they bloom at the highest point and open up in a round shape) and whether the extinguishing points (when the stars of the fireworks burn out) are aligned.
It is nice to have this kind of preliminary knowledge in my mind while waiting. It will change my attitude and awareness toward fireworks viewing.
Also, the program of the fireworks is cool, like a special move. Like "Ascending Silver Dragon Triple Core Chrysanthemum" or "Ascending Kyokyokudozuke Quadruple Core Chrysanthemum Tip Reddish Green Silver Ran". If the voice actors were to shout it out, it seems as if the technique would go straight into action.
The pamphlets that you get at events like this are quite rich and full of things that you can learn, so they are also good resources. That's why I read a lot of them.
Now, the time for the fireworks was approaching!
