[Naruto City] First Time to Otsukai - Kiln Mori Toki - Part 2 [Otani Ware]

更新日:

Jars, Plants and Organisms

A huge jar full of water and lotus. What a soothing combination!

I can't speak to the true nature of Otani Pottery, but my impression is that it is a wonderful Japanese culture, but it is not a culture that can be limited to harmony alone. The lotuses in the jar, showing their vitality, remind me of Monet's water lilies, and there is also a hint of Western-style drifting in the air. The fact that there is also a hint of Western style in the work is also very appealing.

I couldn't get a good picture of them, but when I looked into the jar of water, I saw a few tadpoles swimming around. I guess we will be able to enjoy the cute sight of them as they grow up and become frogs, perched on the lotus leaves.

(Just be concerned that the water has been heated by the sun and turned into hot water.)

Still, it is hot.

It's already extremely hot, even though it's only July. The sun was beating down on me in a frightening manner. (As a complete side note, I suffered from heat stroke for a while after this and needed an intravenous drip for a while.)

After having had more than enough of the charm of pottery at Mori Toki, we will head to a few other Otani pottery stores, but that is another story.

Well, that's all for this issue. See you again.
