A story about enjoying Mt. Kenzan, the second highest sacred mountain in western Japan, alone.

更新日:

Arrival. Finally, the mountain hiking begins.

I was not sure what to expect, but there are several routes to Kenzan (剣山). I wasn't sure, so I chose the route that can be reached from the back side of the lift station (above).

To put it simply.
This was a bad idea lol.

It was much harder than I had imagined, with bad footholds, cliffs on the sides, snakes, and steep slopes.
(After returning home, I checked the route and found that it seemed to be the most time-consuming route, called the boardwalk route.)

On the way, there was a fork in the road.
We decided to go for "Goshinsui to the top" for now.
(I looked this up after I got back and found that this changed the route from the longest to the medium route.)

Rejuvenating water Goshinsui

The slope got even more steep and the footing even worse, but we made it. Goshinsui (divine water). Water bubbling up next to a small shrine. When I scooped it up and touched it, it was so cold that I honestly wanted to cover my head with it. To be honest, I wanted to cover my head with it.

It's called rejuvenating water. They say you can take it home in a plastic bottle.

After recovering from the touch of the cold water, I went further.
